Privacy policy

You can use the app without signing in. Everything you record then stays on your phone, in the app’s own storage, and is never sent to us.

When you sign in, the farm’s records are sent to our servers so the people on your farm can share them. That includes:

Your account: the email address you sign in with. Workers and managers added by a farm owner have an account made for them, under the name the owner gives them; they sign in with a code, not an email.

The farm: its name and place, houses, batches of birds, and each day’s records — eggs, losses, feed, weights, medication and notes — with who recorded them.

The farm’s business: sales, customers (with any phone numbers you enter), payments, what customers owe, expenses and feed deliveries.

Receipt details you choose to add: a logo, a phone number and bank account details to print on receipts.

Photos you take in the app for a day on the farm.

A random identifier for each phone, used to give its receipts their own numbers, and the app’s version, so an outdated app can be asked to update.

When a worker code is typed in, the internet address it came from and whether it worked, kept for up to 7 days to stop codes being guessed.

We do not sell your information, show you advertising, or track you across other apps and websites. The app contains no advertising or analytics tools. It does send crash reports, described below.

The farm owner decides who is on the farm. A manager sees the whole farm, including its money. A worker sees only the houses the owner gives them, and never the farm’s sales, expenses, customers or reports. Nobody outside your farm can see its records, apart from what is set out below.

When you send a receipt or report — on WhatsApp, for example — it goes where you send it, under that service’s own terms.

30kweb can see what is needed to run PoultryLive: who is on each farm and their sign-in email, its houses and birds, how much it records and when it was last used. Our tools never show a farm’s sales, customers or money, every look is logged, and we open a farm’s own records only to fix a problem you have asked us about.

Signed-in records are kept with Supabase, which provides our database, sign-in and file storage, on servers in Ireland, in the European Union. Sign-in codes are sent to your email by our sign-in service. Information is encrypted on its way between your phone and our servers.

If the app breaks on your phone, a crash report is sent to Sentry, which we use to find and fix the fault. It says what went wrong and where in the app, with the app’s version and the phone’s model and system version. It does not include your farm’s records, names or anything you typed. Sentry keeps these reports on servers in Germany, in the European Union.

When the app opens, it asks Expo, which delivers our app updates, whether a newer version is ready, and downloads it if so. This sends the app’s version and the kind of phone, not your records.

Camera: only when you take a photo for the day.

Photos: only when you choose a logo for your receipts.

Notifications: reminders you set, such as the time to record the day. They are scheduled on your phone; we do not send them.

Your farm’s records are kept while your account exists, so the farm can go on using them. Backups you make with the app are files on your phone, which you control.

You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Settings › Delete account.

If you own a farm, your farm is deleted with it, for everyone on it: its records, its photos, and the accounts of its workers and managers.

If you work on someone else’s farm, your account and your access are deleted. What you recorded stays with the farm, as its record of the work, without your account attached.

If you cannot open the app, email [CONTACT EMAIL] from your account’s email address and we will delete it for you.

Under Nigeria’s Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. Write to [CONTACT EMAIL]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

If you work on a farm, its records are the farm owner’s; ask them first about records of the farm’s work.

PoultryLive is made for people running and working on farms. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold their information.

If we change this policy, the new version will be in the app with the date it takes effect. If a change matters to how your information is used, we will tell you in the app before it applies.
